OPEN THE DESCRIPTION BOX ??
In this video, I'm sharing with you the results from my medical school application 2020 cycle and how I was feeling throughout the application year. I'm also telling you where I'm going to medical school in the Fall of 2020 and my decision-making process to choose between medical schools. This includes the list of medical schools I applied, where I interviewed, was waitlisted, accepted and also rejected. I applied mostly to Florida schools, I recommend to just apply to the schools that you would be happy to go even if they were your only acceptance! My post-interview results show you that in this waiting game you will need strength and patience! Applying to medical school is not an easy ride but it will be all worth it, just hang in there!

Congrats!! It’s so nice to see another LatinX person succeeding in their journey to become physicians. I’m still in the midst of interviewing so I’m excited to see where I’ll end up!

The Fee Assistance Program only helps a little…so how would you endure four years of medical school and paying the rent each month? Can you help me out and tell me how it is you are paying the rent portion? That I would really like to know. From parents?

Hi Jen, Thank you for your comment. I would love to do a video talking in more detail about money and financial concerns for future medical students. In regards to your question, the majority of medical students pay rent and tuition through federal loans that we pay back after graduating, usually, in the avg person, it will take from 2-5 years to pay our medical school debt. But there are many scholarship opportunities available, for example, I recently received one from school, and I plan to apply for more to reduce my debt as much as possible. The fee assistance program I think is for MCAT prep and med school application fees right?

Hey I really like your videos and I can relate a lot with you because my parents did not go to school in the United States. I want a mentor to guide me, idk if your willing to help me.

Congratulations. ??. May I be allowed to ask a question? Are you non smoker or have you ever been❓opinion about it❓You seem to be a very positive and healthy person❗Have a nice day.

You get used to it. Although, I will say that I don’t smoke as heavily as I used to. Now I use smokeless tobacco which seems to be better. Used tobacco since I was 14 and I’m 38 now so it’s been a while.

Don’t get discouraged! I applied with a <505 MCAT and 3.9 GPA and I have an interview there in 2 weeks! So everything is possible! Stats are not everything, so make sure that your application truly shows who you are and why you want to be a doctor!! You got this!

No don’t get discouraged, maybe my secondary app wasn’t as good. There are many factors, I know a student from FIU that got in. They do have high MCAT scores so maybe that was one of the factors. In other words, if it is your dream school, you should definitely try it. I think is an awesome school too!

Hi Sophia! I’m actually going to do a video about how I will pay for medical school, please be on the lookout for that, but it depends if the medical school is public or private (those are more expensive). My school is a public school and it is about 31,000 per year. I will share more insight on how to pay for this career in the upcoming video! Thank you for your comment!
